Medical billing services are gradually gaining ground as these come very handy to the doctors. They save the doctors a precious and big dollop of time that goes in filling out forms, dealing with insurance companies and chasing payments. These allow doctors to focus more on their practice and examine more patients as a result a big boost to their career in terms of money.

But with the popularity of these businesses comes steep competition. New medical billing businesses are mushrooming. But still majority of businesses are badly handled. So in such circumstances if you can efficiently market your medical billing business then the prospects are bright for you.

First and foremost keep the contact details of doctors in your area. Send out a sales letter to them every month. If you are using the direct mail well and good other wise incase of email do take their permission for sending sales letter. In your sales letter describe your business and how it can be beneficial for the doctors.

In the process of prospecting it is important that you offer them something that encourages them to subscribe to your service. Make your direct mail package look very attractive. Every one gets pleased with a personal tone as it creates a sense of belonging. Small tips are including your company name on the envelope and to handwrite the name of the doctor and the doctor's mailing address on the envelope.

You should follow up with a call. But time your call very carefully. Don�t call the next day after the post when the chances of having read are sparse or the mail may not have reached them. Call up after a week when the read mail will be fresh in their mind. Don�t delay beyond it or it might vaporize out of their mind. While calling identify yourself clearly and also you are following up in respect to the mail you sent. This is an effective marketing technique. However in this process it is difficult to reach the decision maker as you have to encounter a series of people before you finally speak to the doctor, which may include the receptionist, the personal assistant, the nurse etc. They might put you off if you are unable to convince them about the purpose of your call.

Visiting the doctor's clinic and leaving your business card and business brochure is also a good idea. The doctor will see the medical billing business card as on when he is little relaxed and may call you back if he requires one such service. In such case the success of your deal is a little assured.

But always remember that all these tactics will work if you execute the promises that you make. You are building your business credibility, so if you don�t stand true to your promise, your reputation will be jeopardy. Marketing your medical billing business is no rocket science. If your services are in place and your strategies are correct, marketing task becomes simple.
