| There are numerous types of packaging machinery you can purchase. There are machinery products for packaging food items. For example, the bag shrink wrap machines are used in bundling together food items such as pet foods and packed snacks. The bag shrink wrappers have a specific collator mechanism and servo drives for major functions. For example, there are bag collation shrink wrappers. These are tailor-made to wrap gusseted bags of product. These machines ensure ease of transportation and reduce risk of outside contamination.. There are also tub or container shrink wrap units, which are used in packaging large plastic products or glass jars which can contain food or drink. The packaging line for large plastic tubs containing frozen product incorporates a low pressure infeed conveyor taking product from a four lane chiller, through a four to two indexing belt combiner into two collator/shrink wrappers. The system is built up from two second hand shrink wrappers with new product tiering collators and a bespoke four to two product combiner. A major part of the work is to provide precision servo motor control for all of the machine’s principal motion axes, and also to install a new control system. The tubs are received from the chiller and combined onto a single low-friction conveyor that feeds a sweep belt. This is arranged to send batches of four tubs alternately to each of the collator/shrink wrappers. There are various options for bottle shrink wrap machines. Where presentation is not paramount but collation count and transit stability is, you can find a range of machines to shrink wrap bottles of all types, shapes and sizes. Machines can be configured to suit a variety of Line layouts. If your product needs to be loaded into shallow board trays, Linkx produce tray erectors and collator-tray loaders. These can be free-standing, integrated into existing packaging lines or supplied as part of a new line with one of our wrappers. The case erectors are also a part of the shrink wrap equipment range. These are suitable for manual packing lines or fully automatic lines with automatic product loading. Ranges can include budget units which erect up to 10 cases per minute and leave a very compact footprint, through to closers which have a speed of 18 cases per minute and are for more labour intensive operations. Jar Tray loaders. When the content of your containers is expensive or delicate or perhaps the containers themselves are of high value, then you need the best transit protection. Enter the wrap-around case – because of its close fitting nature, the products inside cannot move around as they will in an RSC case. Add to this the hot melt glue closure of all flaps and you have a very robust, tamper evident and secure transit package. This is, of course just one variant of the jar/container range available to you. David Hayward is the author of this article on Packaging Machinery. Find more information on Stretch Wrappers here |
